It takes its place the moment you add it: dim and unformed, already holding the spot its star will occupy.

makes it brighter.
Log your pages as you go and the nebula tightens and glows. Progress isn't a bar buried in a menu; it's the thing you're looking at.
Finishing it
lights a star.
The nebula collapses and a star ignites in its place, sized by your rating, coloured by its genre, and wired into the constellation its neighbours already belong to.

Most reading trackers give you a spreadsheet with better fonts. Stellary gives you a sky, one that fills in as your library grows.
Add a book and it enters your sky as a nebula. Finish it, and it collapses into a star. Genres cluster into their own constellations, so your sky reads like a map of everything you've read. Nothing about it is a gimmick: every star maps back to a real book you actually finished.
It's the same tracking you'd expect (progress, goals, stats), just given somewhere beautiful to live. We built it because we wanted this to exist for our own shelves first.

Fantasy runs violet. Science teals. History burns amber.

No banners, no interstitials, no "watch this to unlock a shelf." We built Stellary because we wanted it to exist, not to farm your attention. There's an optional subscription for those who want to support it, but we'll never sell you out for ad revenue.
